A pop of colour elevates a modern classic

Barcelona is a lovely bistro-style wooden garden set. The table top, the chair seats and backrests are painted, with several colour options to choose from. Pre-oiled acacia wood

Acacia is quality hardwood which is perfect for outdoor use. The wood we use for the Barcelona garden sets is responsibly sourced in Vietnam. We coat the wood with a protective oil, so you can enjoy your Barcelona set straight away.

Product care

We pre-coat the wood with protective oil during the manufacturing process and the oil absorption can vary. If there is a slight residue from the oil treatment, be sure to remove it with a cloth before using the set. You don’t need to oil your garden set when it arrives, but you should oil it at the end of each summer to maintain the quality.
Acacia is a living material. As a result, its appearance will change over time and some cracks may appear. This is normal and it is part of the charm of natural hardwood materials. Despite being a sturdy and weather-resistant product, the Acacia wood requires some maintenance in order to keep it in good condition.
On a daily basis, remove any leaves, standing water and dust. Wash stains and food residue with a sponge and soapy water. If your structure gets particularly dirty, you can use a small stiff brush.
In spring and at the end of the summer, clean your garden furniture well and let it dry. Once the wood is completely dry, apply a thin layer of oil. Make sure that it will not be exposed to rain, precipitation or other humidity in the following 24 hours.
If your acacia garden furniture has been exposed to a lot of rain, you may notice that the surface fibers have swollen a little and that the whole product feels rougher to the touch. To fix this, sand lightly with fine grit sandpaper until smooth again. Once sanded, apply a coat of oil to restore the garden furniture to its original colour.
The layer of oil is what prevents stains and helps it to cope with pollution, weather and mould. If you choose to let your acacia furniture age, without applying the oil twice a year, it will develop a pleasant silver colour. However, it will no longer be protected from the elements.

Recommendations
It is important to winterise your acacia garden furniture. Store it away from humidity in a cool, well-ventilated place. If you protect it with a cover, we recommend choosing polyester rather than PVC.
Do not put your garden furniture in contact with direct or excessive heat.
Do not leave a damp sponge on the tabletop for too long as this will cause it to feel rough to the touch.
